The Daily Dose Cafe @ Lorong Stewart, Georgetown, Penang

The Daily Dose Cafe is part of my short listed must visit cafe since the past few months. But with the endless pile of work coming my way, it has definitely delay my trip to this cafe. We decided to have brunch in the cafe for a change instead. The cafe is situated along the narrow Steward Lane, walking distance to the Cafe Atelier and the Goddess of MercyTemple. The ambience of the cafe is lovely with a fish pond located in the middle of walkway. Decorated with pictures of wars and fights. Be warn! It could be rather disturbing after observing the picture further. Back to their menu, there were limited choices for main dishes.

Yella Fork Cafe @ Jalan Chow Thye, Georgetown, Penang

Of all our cafe expeditions and travels for food, Penang still firmly holds the #1 spot for us. Certain local fares like Asam Laksa may take an acquired taste to appreciate them, but out of all our efforts to bring our foreign friends for Cuti-cuti Penang, most of them enjoyed food here. With all the RM3 hokkien mee and wanton mee around, it is crucial to stay competitive in terms of pricing.

Yella Fork Cafe recently opened at Jalan Chow Thye, along with some new eateries which we featured previously (Basement Six). Don’t worry we will not bore you with yet another cafe that serves regular eggs ben or breakfast platters. It is a cafe that serves fusion-Australian dishes to offer you a little something that is slightly different from the usual brunches which most cafes are already serving anyway. Another catch which appeals to our thrifty Penangite side being the pricing of the dishes set on the lower end, which is bound to attract a good number of patrons looking for affordable good food.

Miam Miam @ Gurney Paragon Mall, Georgetown, Penang

Miam Miam Restaurant located at one of the most strategic places in Gurney Paragon, beside Ben’s and nearby Pacific Coffee. This french japanese restaurant is known for their famous French Toast served in a unique metal-like bowl with whipped cream and maple syrup to go together. Our wait didn’t go in vain, eventhough it was 11am in the morning, very little guests, it still took about 20-30 mins for them to served this dish. Despite the price and wait time, the food definitely deserve a thumbs up. The menu choices are pretty limited too, but easy to read. If you can’t imagine the outcome, the picture says it all. Another MUST TRY in their list is the souffle. It is also in our to try list, when we have the opportunity to come back.

Javrie Restaurante & Pizzeria @ Gurney Paragon Mall, Georgetown, Penang

If you are wondering where to go for a hearty meal tonight for Christmas Eve, you may want to check out Javrie Restaurant & Pizzeria located at Gurney Paragon Mall. The restaurant is well decorated in the 70’s theme, utilizing the vintage poster-montage wall as a background for the momento photographs filled with scrumptious homemade pizzas, mouthwatering mushroom soup and unique ramen burgers. There is also an added touch of smooth wooden wall with glass panes to separate diners and passer-by shoppers, creating the perfect ambiance away from the hectic shopping scene just outside.

Hot deals from their menu includes their variety pizza options such as flaming tropical seafood, BBQ meat fiesta and tomyam chicken delight. AND the list goes on…

We chanced upon a Groupon deal of cash voucher RM 50 for just RM 25 and decided to give this new place a try.
