The Daily Dose Cafe @ Lorong Stewart, Georgetown, Penang

The Daily Dose Cafe is part of my short listed must visit cafe since the past few months. But with the endless pile of work coming my way, it has definitely delay my trip to this cafe. We decided to have brunch in the cafe for a change instead. The cafe is situated along the narrow Steward Lane, walking distance to the Cafe Atelier and the Goddess of MercyTemple. The ambience of the cafe is lovely with a fish pond located in the middle of walkway. Decorated with pictures of wars and fights. Be warn! It could be rather disturbing after observing the picture further. Back to their menu, there were limited choices for main dishes.

Black Kettle Cafe @ Beach Street, Georgetown, Penang

Hopping from one cafe to another had became a trend in Penang. Not sure which to choose? You would probably want to add Black Kettle to your list. Located along Beach Street, parallel to Chulia Street serving a variety of English style bread loaves and a list of brunch items to choose for dine in. Highly recommended is their freshly baked croissants and bread loaves. We are lucky to be able to catch the head chef in action carrying tray after tray of freshly made loaves hot out of the oven. Tempting us to grab a loaf of their poppy seed flavour home with us.

Unlike other cafes, Black Kettle is spacious and elegantly design. The interior is design different in every section, there is a corner with greens and natural sunlight and the cozy couch with white arch design. The bakery and order counter is located at the front of shop, where the customers are given an ample of space to have their on private conversation comfortably.

Macallum Connoisseurs @ Lebuh Macallum, Georgetown, Penang

Heavy instagram users beware! The following shows some food pictures which are overly posted on instagram. For those who have yet to follow us on Instagram or any other penangite, this is a treat for your eyes.

Macallum Connoisseurs is one of the newest brunch/coffee place for all you early-risers, unless you plan to have it for lunch, in that case we don’t judge because we absolutely love brunches! As the name suggests, its located at Gat Lebuh Macallum, just along the Jelutong Expressway. Many would probably have notice this black building with solar panels newly built beside the temple. It’s strategically located in the heart of Penang a few hundred metres away from Komtar, Penang.

Limited tummies equates to short post and few food pictures but hey quality>quantity right? Good bagels are hard to come by in this small island we call home so we took a turkey bacon bagel, slice of cake and COFFEE OF COURSE.

Coffee Affairs @ Lebuh Bishop, Georgetown, Penang

It’s ONE MORE MONTH to CHRISTMAS! Jingle Bells Jingle Bell! As the school bell rings, it marks the beginning of SCHOOL HOLIDAYS! The shopping malls and restaurants are busier than usual. People from near and far flooding Penang just to savour the good hawker foods and visit the heritage cafes. We stumbled on another new spot (not so new to Penangites) to check out. Coffee Affairs served freshly roast specialty coffee beans from different countries and delicious assorted pastries. The cafe offers brewing classes and purchase of brewing equipment.

La Vanille Cupcakes & Macarons @ Hutton Lane, Georgetown, Penang

Looking for homemade cupcakes, macarons, sweet delicacies or brunch, La Vanille is where you should be. The cafe is located at Hutton Lane, walking distance from Secawan ‘n’ such and New World Park food court. Look for the turquoise rabbit or shop if you are having trouble looking for the shop. :)  The coziness of the cafe was build up by the owner with a mixture of inspired culture and lifestyle thru her experiences travelling around the world. The delectable macarons from Paris was the main inspiration for her to start up La Vanille. The interior was build up with wooden furnitures and decoratives. Every single corner was specially design with its own taste and feeling. A great place for  gatherings and catch up sessions.
