The Daily Dose Cafe @ Lorong Stewart, Georgetown, Penang

The Daily Dose Cafe is part of my short listed must visit cafe since the past few months. But with the endless pile of work coming my way, it has definitely delay my trip to this cafe. We decided to have brunch in the cafe for a change instead. The cafe is situated along the narrow Steward Lane, walking distance to the Cafe Atelier and the Goddess of MercyTemple. The ambience of the cafe is lovely with a fish pond located in the middle of walkway. Decorated with pictures of wars and fights. Be warn! It could be rather disturbing after observing the picture further. Back to their menu, there were limited choices for main dishes.

Big Breakfast (RM20.00)

Their big breakfast consist of the fried eggs, toasted bread, strips of bacons, sauteed mushrooms with mash potatoes and sausages. Nothing to wow about the big breakfast except for creamy mash potatoes. Probably adding more greens/salad for extra flavour.

Vegetarian Pasta (RM16.90)

The aglio oglio pasta noodle is fried together with mushrooms, red peppers, greens and tomato. The taste was slightly bland for my liking, i have a preference for stronger flavour like the cabonara/tomato puree sauce. But with the price i’m paying, the portion is enough for 2.

House BLT (RM14.00)

Fried to crispy! Love the bacon strip in the House BLT.It is just piled up version of the big breakfast. I was trying to spot for the difference, proabably the only difference is the sauce that is drizzled on top. For the price that we are paying, they odd to serve us with rye bread or bagels instead of the regular white bread which was not served hot.

Minced Pork Rice Noodle (RM16.90)

The mince pork should be seasoned with more black pepper and pound for a solid texture.

Rice Wine Ginger Pork (RM16.90)

Highly recommended, the pork is well – seasoned with ginger and rice wine. It is served together with fried egg and white rice. Price is on the high side, but you are paying for a different ambience while savouring your rice wine ginger pork.

Ginger Chicken (RM16.90)

I would highly recommended on their ginger meals. The tender and soft chicken is very well cooked with the black fungus slice and ginger. The chicken cannot be over-cooked as it will change the texture surface. Try this if are a huge fan of ginger! Good for pregnant ladies too! :)

Latte (RM10.00) / Cappuccino (RM10.00)

It must be their forte on coffee. The aroma of the coffee filled the cafe and the strong taste just linger in the mouth after sipping. If you are looking a afternoon tea spot, this would be the place for you :)

 Ice Blended Chocolate Mint (RM14.00)

The ice blended chocolate mint was slightly sweeter for our liking.
