Ceylone House @ Lorong Ceylone, Georgetown, Penang

If you are looking for a homemade and delicious salmon steak, Ceylone House should be the place to be. So it was thru Groupon that we first heard about this place. Located at Lorong Ceylone, a road away from Secawan ‘n’ such and New World Park away from the busy roads in Georgetown city. Maintaining the classic traditional wooden windows and door reminded me of the olden generation houses back in the 80s’. Glide thru the walls with a coat of white paint and decorated flowers, the refurbished cafe looks brand new and homey. With the soothing sound of the radio FM playing while dining has definitely made us ponder on how things have slowly transform from the 80s’ to 90s. The new era of technology replacing the old and etc. Nevertheless, we both enjoyed our quiet time here.

Salmon Steak (RM23.90)

Well cooked grilled salmon and tomatos. Slightly greasy but taste very good on its’ own. Served together with salad and thousand island sauce.

Spaghetti Bolognese with Pork Sausage (RM16.90)

Something different from other cafes, the combo for spaghetti and pork can never go wrong. The homemade tomato based sauce sprinkled with cheese, and TADAA!! We were expecting a richer tomato based taste and more sauce in our bowl, nevertheless we still finish the portion and attempted to lick our plate :)

 Homemade Mushroom Soup (RM7.90)

The mushroom soup did not come out as how we were expecting it to be. It would have taste better if there were more mushroom taste and less watery. The bread crumbs goes well with the soup.

 Brewed Coffee (RM6.90)

Freshly brewed coffee! You know it is freshly brewed when you can hear grinding beans going thru the machine and the aroma filled up the entire place. Served together with a cup of milk and warm water. I appreciate how thoughtful of them to be serving us this way. We can have the coffee our way. May it be an Americano or a latte or a cup of cappucino to your own liking. ANDDDDD…..this cup of coffee is not overpriced! :D

 Iced Honey Lemon (RM7.90)

For a more refreshing choice, Chase tried the Honey Lemon. He was rather skeptical when he saw the pudina leaves inside the drink. It was a great combi for a hot and humid day like this. Gulping down his throat without hesitation sure did made a point :)
